Adding to Vicksburg's allure are the enticements of our Festivals and community events, each of which is worthy of a day trip to the village that has a history of drawing thousands.

Museum Days

The Vicksburg Deport Museum has more than 10,000 historical and genealogical items in its collection and maintains a historic village of buildings important to the development of Vicksburg and the south Kalamazoo county region. The museum hosts several Saturday events called "Museum Days." These events cover a host of topics from the Civil War to model railroading.

The Vicksburg Museum is open Tuesdays from 1 to 3 p.m., Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 to 4 p.m. The facility is closed January through April. For more information about the Vicksburg Historic Village and museum acitivities, visit www.vicksburghistoricvillage.com.

Ice Festival & Chili Cook-Off
February – Downtown Vicksburg

Professional Ice Sculptures begin at 9:00 am, children's games, Chili Cook-off (in the heated tent) begins at 11:00 am, raffles and entertainment, horse-drawn carriage rides, 5K run and ice fishing derby (sponsored by Double L Bait & Marine) on Sunset Lake. Vicksburg Old Car Festival
2nd Friday & Saturday in June – downtown Vicksburg

This is Vicksburg's biggest event of the year. Hundreds of classic cars and hot rods. Thousands of visitors. Entertainment begins on Friday evening with 50-60s music and a "cruise". Saturday its the car exhibition and judging plus live entertainment, a swap meet & flee market, the annual Clark Park arts & craft show, Library Book sale, Gas & steam engine show at the Vicksburg Historic Museum grounds and much, much more...Interested in entering a car?

We kick off with a cruise night on Friday night from 6:00-10:00pm. Cars and friends come to gather and get ready for the big car show on Saturday. A great night with a DJ and oldies music for old and young alike.

Saturday morning cars come from all over to be in this family-fun Car Festival. Show runs from 9:00 a.m-4:00 p.m. with trophies being awarded at 3:30.

  • Cost to pre-register your car is $10.00 before May 20th and $15.00 the day of the show.
  • We have live entertainment all day, peoples choice car awards. 1,000+ cars come to this event. Special guests to be announced.
  • An award winning Gas and Steam engine show takes place in our own Historic Village with working engines and lots of information on these vintage machines. And always a special display or invited guests to make it a fun event.
  • The Clark Park Arts & Crafts show takes place in conjunction with the Old Car Festival on Saturday June 13th. from 9:00-4:00pm. This juried show is in it's 18th year and is a great hit with everyone in attendance each year. A variety of great hand made items are always on display for sale.

This is a free event! Everyone welcome to come and enjoy our quaint downtown.
